a few snaps of claire's that i found, of the weekend before she left. finding the current heat wave a bit much... 40 deg tomorrow! spent a great balmy evening out at the botanic last night with good friends, millers and a pack of cards...

early mid-week surf at victor then back for a week of work. spent a balmy thursday evening among friends eating, drinking and playing cards. moved out of hammersmith on saturday - now it's sleeping bags and camp stretchers until i find something. summer has hit with temperatures well into the thirties.

regency

solitary four-day vacation on the gold coast in a bid to study and relax following a heavy week. had a surprise liaison with C.C at oskar's friday evening. was in the ocean swimming by eight this morning!! perused the burleigh markets at noon while eating frozen mango...

lace and leathers

finally catching up on some old postings. did a bit of retrospective blogging for the nz trip back in september. have been using film of late so the blog as been getting neglected... spent last sunday up the barossa on the back of dad's bike. visited a few wineries and landed upon a lamborghini club while we were up there.

up early to walk mount lofty. a 'vigourous' walk to the summit. great view from the top before a quick turn-a-round to make the body building comp in norwood. by the time we arrived it was a sell-out but caught up with a few before heading to hyde park...

the greenman

went to the produce markets for breakfast before loading the van and driving the fleureau peninsular. lucky enough to spot a few whales before winding our way home via the greenman (unfortunatly a KI group was camped out in this quaint pub for the footy finals....)

touring

bridge came down from sydney for a long weekend visit. rubbish weather but spent friday in hahndorf eating sausage and sauerkraut before heading back to the city for a botanic and movie combination.

city to gay

in a moment of insanity decided to run the annual city to bay. my only goal- to run without stopping. four brufen and a d/rascal vs. inxs playlist had me over the finish line in a surprisingly okay time.

bobos, bikes and backgammon

spent two glorious days with jonny et al at the gay-frame. mornings were at bobo's playing backgammon and chess while afternoons were passed at the marlin bar. found a surfboard to bring home with me....

huka

had a fantastic post-party breakfast in taupo before heading to raglan. spent a great afternoon with jonny d in the sun before a quintessential kiwi fish-and-chip dinner and late night spa.

following a keno/scotts visit in hamilton we migrated to tim's 30th in taupo...

top saturday. drove along the sea's edge, with window's down, listening to little dragon's latest. back to miss erina's for a fantastic afternoon of sun, cider, newspapers and henna- topped with a evening bbq.

buying flat-packed bedroom furniture and fig scented room oils, and stuffing bags destined for vinnies' in a seasonal revamp. saw damien today, another tick on a list full of 'to-do's'. not long until nz vacation. looking forward to seeing the haunts and homies...

late week evenings spent at the treasury and H.S with miss erina folding shapes and drinking tea. brilliant saturday (27 deg!!) at waits with RB and co. the surf was beyond me so i lay in the sun making cranes. balmy trip home with a pit-stop at the greenman. hung out the windows of the lux, surfing the breeze with music wailing. quick turn-around at clifton for RB to be suited up and dropped at a who's who charity gala to be auctioned.

a coffee and ride into the city with CC in his vw with seat heaters - with a 'best accent' competition en route... oxford st for my favourite cafe/bookstore before meeting crawfo at the chess-board in hyde park. it was the first time i've seen him since france '07. walked and talked for hours and got answers to some of the urban tales which shadowed him in le espace killy. a harbour ferry ride home before airport dash outta town.

hang loose mother goose

to bondi for a market shop. FAIL. the city to gay run was on so we shared the beachside with 75k athletes plus spectators. had a good lunch at harrys before picking up a few steals a departing bondi-ite was selling on a blanket on the ramsgate st corner. back to manly for chat thai to-go (gave faux names for fun) then queenies for vin and hairbraids and old music videos.

world war II technology

a friday nuit plane, train and ferry combo to queenscliffe. spent saturday morning at freshwater for a good breakfast of sonoma and coffee, mixed with a-lot of walking and talking. back to the ranch then a late afternoon surf. thawed at the wharf tavern with pizza and pop before cabbing it home to casa de la queenie with cassidy in tow. joined the trinity and watched the breakfast club and some, with cups of chamomile until the wee hours...

élan

sunday morning surf then a mosey around antique stores and emporiums in port elliott. got a few bangles and a lead-light dolphin sticker for my car that i quite like. met some more c.s people from the city. back to miss erina's in the evening for green tea and movies. listening to little dragon a-lot at the moment.

winnie & stout

back out to victor with R.B. et al for another surf. sung to the radio and nattered our way to middleton before braving the waves. had a quick game of go-fetch with winnie in the rain before a bleak weathered trip home, softened with a stout/pie combo. bon.

peppermint path

the feel good saturday that i've been chasing after for a while. breakfast with mum at the bay (for my favourite serve of porridge) followed by a facial. complete indulgence with an acid skin peel that will probably leave me looking like skin-shedding reptile. headed to middleton late morning for a surf and watched two whales out the back put on a great display. top winters day. hoping to get l.t back on track. the millions of tokyo pics in need of sorting and posting has left me feeling slightly defeated.

a more sedate day... wandered ginza - tokyo's fifth avenue, before moving onto roppongi and tsukiji. had thee most fun evening at the tokyo dome watching the baseball (yomiuri giants vs nippon ham fighters!!) with some super funny brits who were also staying at the khaosan. such a mad night - will try get a video up. back to the ranch for asahi and laughs.

koenji

first stop was koenji - home to tokyo's indie music scene and thee most untouched vintage stores i have ever visited. stopped by a tiny shanty cafe where the phrase book got some use. found a beauty salon offering the dr. fish pedicure treatment. such an odd sensation having 20+ fish nibble on my feet but the results were outstanding. met a beautiful japanese girl and had such a funny conversation via sign-language and the translation application on her phone. very cool. from koenji we migrated one stop east to nakano where we made a food purchase error and ate octopus filth. next was shinjuku - a neon wonderland with a train station that lets over 2 million people pass thru each day. great combination of skyscrapers and shacks. honing my chopstick skills....
